The Outpost Lodge
The Outpost Lodge is fully equipped for memorable wilderness family vacations or exciting long weekend hiking or fishing excursions. It’s truly a place for a family vacation, something different, unusual yet with all the comforts. There is colour everywhere…in the water, the sky, the trees, and the flowers. It is such a pleasant place that one relaxes without any effort. More and more families are coming to the Outpost, there is so much to do. There is a white sand beach, plenty of shallow water for small children and deep water for the experts.

There are miles and miles of shoreline on the four home lakes, with something new around every bend. It is a naturalists and photographers paradise with colours everywhere. Wildflowers grow in profusion, there are places for shoreline picnics. Trails lead to the high hills, heron rookeries, streams, waterfalls, and to other lakes. The Chapleau Highway extends north for 300 kms – there are many side roads to lakes and streams. There are roads that offer unusual scenery and offer opportunities to see deer, moose, foxes, beaver, otter and other wildlife.

When you arrive, we will give you one of our famous Outpost adventure books to help you navigate our wonderful activities which are all free for you to enjoy!
